Floating Architecture
Floating Architecture
Materials: Cardboard, Masking Tape, Sharpie, Paper, Packing Tape, Gesso, Black Ink, Hot glue
Dimensions: 1'6" x 10" x 1'10"
This project was to combine two or more styles of architecture into one sculpture. I choose Neo Modernism, and Art Nouveau for my styles. The basic structure of the sculpture was taken from Neo-Modernism, with sharp corners and geometric shapes that intersect in kind of odd areas. The Art Nouveau style inspired the organic shapes of the masking tape on the outside, and the window into the largest rectangle. I wanted it to appear as if the nature was taking back the modern building, and breaking it down.
